Bliar may have said it, but like so many things he and his party said it was smoke and mirrors, now we have Gronad telling us that university funding is to be cut by around 670 million pounds next year.
Where is that money going?
A good question, but if you listened to another announcement then you would already know that it's going to finance the war in Afghanistan which is going to cost £5 billion this year rather than the estimated £4 billion.
That means there is still another 330 million to come from somewhere - out of our pockets because the government has no money of its own.
Do we really believe for one instant that £5 billion a year should be spent on the war?
This is a ludicrous waste of money, we should pull our troops out of Afghanistan immediately and leave the Afghans to sort out their own problems. They don't want us there, all they want is the money.
